Job TypePermanent Full-Time (Sun to Thurs, 8-6pm)Pay:$60,398 per annumAbout the RoleWe are looking for aTeam Leadto join our Leadership team. Team Leads provide supervision, mentorship, and leadership to front line staff while also supporting the delivery of direct services. In this role, you will be instrumental in guiding a team that responds to vulnerable individuals in the community, with the goal of building trust, reducing barriers, and connecting clients to housing, treatment, and health services.As part of the Leadership team, you will support operations by responding to crises, conducting performance reviews, debriefing staff, hiring, and providing high quality care alongside the front line. You will also partner with community agencies, police, EMS, and Transit to create collaborative strategies for client support. In this role, your responsibilities would include the following:Leading and modeling non-judgmental, client-centered care using a harm reduction and trauma-informed lensProvide coaching, training, supervision and verbal discipline to front line staffConduct performance reviews, assist with hiring interviews, and make recommendations on probation or terminationSupport team members during crisis situations and conduct debriefings afterwardEnsure accurate scheduling and shift coverageUpdating our payroll system with attendance codes to ensure staff are paid appropriately using UKGConducting monthly check-ins with part-time and casual staffOversee and manage program resources and supplies,



including submitting purchase ordersReport to the Program Manager or HR on team functioning or staff issues of a serious natureProvide input and updates to Program Managers for reports and funding requirementsSupport client housing efforts, including completing housing assessments (NSQs)Engage in public education, volunteer training, and relationship-building with other community agenciesRespond to concerns from businesses and community stakeholders on behalf of Alpha HouseMaintain safety and infection prevention procedures, including decontamination protocolsAbout YouThe Community Housing team case manages clients who are independently in the community, and it is important that the candidate has a fundamental understanding of addiction and harm reduction. The ideal candidate would have the following:Minimum two years of experience leading a teamExperience in addictions, mental health, homelessness or working with Indigenous populationsPost-secondary education in a relevant field from a publicly funded institution (minimum two-year degree or diploma, those in progress may be considered)Strong understanding of harm reduction, withdrawal management, trauma-informed care, and recovery-oriented systemsClass 5 Alberta (non-GDL) driver’s license, three years of driving experience,



and a clean five year driver’s abstractProven crisis intervention and de-escalation skillsExperience supervising and debriefing staff or facilitating groupsCompassionate, non-judgmental, and supportive toward vulnerable populationsExcellent communication, conflict resolution and organizational skillsAble to maintain confidentiality, accountability, and act with professionalismProficient with MS Word, Outlook, and ExcelUnderstanding of privacy laws and the Protection of Persons in Care ActValid Vulnerable Sector Search (within the last six months) with no material findingsAbility to gain Privacy certification and lift trainingAbility to physically assist clients from prone to sitting or standing positionsAble to drive an agency van and use own vehicle for work if neededAbout Alpha HouseAlpha House is dedicated to providing safe, caring, and respectful environments for individuals dealing with addiction and mental health challenges.
