CompensationCAD 84,000 – CAD 90,000 per year (Canada only).Job DescriptionEssential Duties and Responsibilities:Independently execute statistical aspects of projects that meet client expectations.Provide one‑on‑one mentorship to new employees and co‑ops.Assist in training junior statisticians to develop methodological expertise and professional skills.Develop statistical analysis plans.Conduct statistical analyses.Interpret and disseminate findings.Oversee and implement quality‑control activities.Lead or participate in the development or modification of novel statistical analysis code.Create, maintain, or extend R packages and R Shiny applications to standardize common statistical routines and enable accessibility, using Git for version control and Bitbucket for collaboration.Participate in meetings with clients and/or internal project teams to lead discussions around statistical methods and present results.Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through continuous development, modeling inclusive behaviors, and proactively managing bias.Perform other duties as assigned.Reasonable Accommodations:Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position.Job ExpectationsTravel:Some travel may be required to meet with clients, stakeholders, or off‑site personnel/management.Hours:Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per weekOvertime and/or weekend/evening hours may be required to meet project deadlines.QualificationsMinimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Ph.D. or M.Sc. in Biostatistics, Statistics, Epidemiology, Health Economics, or related field.One to three years of direct work experience in health research,
health technology assessment, market access or a related field, or equivalent combination of experience and academic training.Strong foundation in fundamental statistical concepts and methods and familiarity with meta‑analysis, indirect comparisons, network meta‑analysis, predictive equations, regression modeling, propensity‑score analysis, survival analysis (including parametric methods), longitudinal data analysis, and related techniques.Strong statistical programming skills with R, WinBUGS/OpenBUGS, SAS, and/or STATA.Experience analyzing patient‑level data from clinical trials and/or real‑world observational data (e.G., surveys, health administrative/claims databases, electronic medical records).Ability to plan, oversee, and manage consistent coding conventions in complex projects.Technically competent with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).Strong attention to detail, critical thinking, analytical, problem‑solving, and multitasking capabilities.Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a sometimes high‑pressure environment.Ability to work independently and in a team‑oriented, collaborative environment.Ability to effectively interact and communicate with peers, senior management,
and clients.Ability to effectively train and mentor junior employees.Ability to communicate effectively (spoken and written) in non‑technical terms to project team members and clients.Preferred Qualifications:M.Sc. or Ph.D. preferred.Skilled experience in meta‑analysis, indirect comparisons, network meta‑analysis, predictive equations, survival analysis (including parametric methods), longitudinal data analysis, and other hierarchical analysis techniques.Experience applying statistics in health technology appraisal, health economics, outcomes research, or clinical data analysis.Proficiency in R programming and familiarity with reproducible workflows (e.G., Git, scripts, AWS S3, RMarkdown, R Shiny, RStudio Connect).Knowledge of Bayesian modeling, Markov chain Monte Carlo sampling, and related software (e.G., Stan, Jags, OpenBUGS, WinBUGS) is an asset.Physical/Mental Demands and Working EnvironmentTypical office environment. Employee frequently required to sit for long periods, stand, walk, talk, and hear. Occasionally required to lift or move up to 25 pounds. Base salary range for this position is CAD 84,000 – CAD 90,000. Compensation is determined by relevant experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
