Job Description SummaryThe Canada Lead Licensing Specialist, Regulatory Affairs, based in Canada, will complete various technical licensing work scopes in Canada, including new reactor licensing for the BWRX-300 Advanced Nuclear Project, operating fleet licensing support, customer plant support on GE Vernova Hitachi Nuclear Energy (GVH) / Global Nuclear Fuels (GNF) nuclear methods, and working with GVH / GNF Engineering and Regulatory Affairs teams on major projects in the areas of mechanical systems, civil structures, nuclear fuel.Roles and ResponsibilitiesParticipate under the direction of the Canadian Technical Leader, Regulatory Affairs, in tasks associated with the nuclear regulatory review process with the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) applicable to mechanical systems and/or fuel for the BWRX-300.Support preparation and submittal of Preliminary Safety Analysis Report (PSAR), Pre-Operational Safety Analysis Report (POSAR) and Final Safety Analysis Report (FSAR) documentation, and other license application documentation for BWRX-300 license application activities in accordance with CNSC regulatory requirements and guidelines and with input from the GVH BWRX-300 Project Team.Support preparation and conduct of technical and licensing presentations to CNSC staff regarding BWRX-300 license applications and coordinate and prepare responses to the customer or regulator in the areas of safety analysis, reactor core design and other applicable areas.Required QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in a science,



engineering or related discipline from an accredited university or college with a minimum of 7 years related professional work experience OR Master’s Degree in a science or engineering discipline from an accredited university or college with a minimum of 5 years of related professional work experience.Minimum of 5 years of experience performing / providing input into nuclear safety evaluations, including satisfaction of regulatory requirements for nuclear regulatory documents.Minimum of 5 years of experience involving complex projects, and providing regulatory guidance and feedback to support those projects.Desired QualificationsFive or more years of experience with Canadian nuclear regulatory requirements and guidance relevant to design, licensing or operation of Class 1 nuclear facilities.Demonstrated leadership in Regulatory Affairs or large engineering projects.Working knowledge of boiling water reactor (BWR) systems, fuel, or operations, with specific experience with Advanced Boiling Water Reactor (ABWR) or Economically Simplified Boiling Water Reactor (ESBWR) engineering or licensing desired.Experience in Canadian nuclear codes and standards in the areas of mechanical pressure boundary,



Civil/Structural design / Seismic qualification.Experience and demonstrated effectiveness in working/communicating with nuclear regulators.Experience working with the nuclear industry groups and international licensing experience.Effective interpersonal and facilitation skills.Process skills related to coordinating and documenting complex technical documents.Communicates messages clearly and concisely with the ability to make decisions with speed and accuracy based on the best available information / ability to sift through complex information and focus on critical priorities.Demonstrated ability to effectively work in a team setting and with technical leaders.Eligibility RequirementsYou must be legally authorized to work in Canada. This position requires access to and/or use of information subject to U.S. Export Control Laws; all citizenships (including dual citizenships) must meet requirements of the U.S. Department of Energy’s List of Generally Authorized Countries. Upon offer of employment, a background investigation will be conducted.
