Wecollaborate with clients to enhance the communities where our friends, families, andneighbourslive and work.ResponsibilitiesWork within a project team to deliver top quality structuralrehabilitationand building envelope restoration projects, including replacement ofroof systems,windows, doors,skylightsand curtainwall systemsto clientsAssistwithbuilding envelope performance, such as air/water leak testing, thermographic survey, High and Low-volt ELD scanning andcontributing to field evaluations as well as technical writing, preparation of quantities,and budget estimatesUndertake site reviews of construction projects to helpmonitorconformance with specifications, quality of workmanship, budget, and scheduleAssistwith building envelope restoration projects including air barrier repairs, insulation and building performance improvements, claddingreplacementand repairs, to clientsAssistwith the tendering process, preparing tender notifications, attending tender meetings, preparing bid summary and recommendationsHelp with preparing specifications,
including editingtechnical sections and working with CAD staff to sketch detailsAssistwith administering construction contracts, including preparing CCDC contracts, preparing payment certificates,changeorders, certificates for substantial performance, building permit applicationsLiaise with contractors, clients, and manufacturers toassistwith responding to project related inquiriesParticipate in project meetings with clients and contractors and contribute to presentations and prepare meeting minutesContribute to development of internal practice systems within the Building Restoration groupParticipate and contribute to internal and external technical training sessionsOther duties as assignedRequirementsDiploma in Civil Engineering Technology, Civil Engineering Technician, Architectural Technology, or Architectural Technicianrequired1-3years of related work experience (including co-op experience)Proficientuser ofAutoCADExcellent written and verbal communication skills, including technical writing and presentation skillsExcellent multi-tasking skills and adaptability to shifting prioritiesStrong organizational skillswith minimum supervisionOn occasions must be able to work under pressure to meet deadlinesWorking with colleagues and sub-consultantsA team playerapproach to problem solvingExperience working at heightsCandidate willbe requiredto work from suspended work platforms and lifts from time to timeRequired to have access to avehicle andavalid driver’s license for travel to project sites.Mileage will be reimbursed for work related travelThe followingadditionalqualifications are viewed as an asset and may contribute to the final decision between candidates:Thermography – Level 1 or Level 2Experience with IO CAD Audit is an assetWhat we offerYou’llcontribute to impactful projects that support the performance and longevity of buildings acrossOntario.
