The group performs approximately 8,500 surgical pathology cases per year.Primary responsibilities:General surgical pathology and cytology case sign outClinical pathology case sign out (e.G., peripheral blood smears, bone marrow biopsies)Transfusion medicine and local laboratory oversightOpportunity for medical directorship of rural area labsAutopsies are not performed at this site.The ideal candidate will have recent clinical pathology experience with strong skills in surgical pathology, laboratory diagnostics, transfusion medicine,



and hematopathology. The candidate should be comfortable with independent practice in a small group setting. Daily quality assurance videoconference is conducted with other Interior Health pathologists. Interinural and extramural consultation for challenging cases is available, including outside consultation at academic medical center sites in Vancouver.Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required, with the ability to relate well with laboratory staff, clinicians, and administration.TermsCompensationCompensation Type: Clinical Service ContractEstimated Remuneration: Provincially negotiated grid level.
