Globally, each year we recruit hundreds of interns to help us see things differently and solve the most complex challenges facing our clients, climate and communities.The opportunityWe are seeking a Graphic Design Intern to join our Visual Communications team in our Toronto office, supporting projects across Arup’s Americas region. As part of our in‑house Marketing, Communications, and Business Development team, you will contribute to a wide range of design work in a fast‑paced, creative environment. This role is well‑suited for a 3rd or 4th year student with a strong foundation in graphic design and a desire to continue developing their skills in a professional setting.We are looking for someone who is professional, detail‑oriented, and motivated to learn. This includes someone who asks thoughtful questions, takes initiative, and is interested in improving through hands‑on experience.You will work on real projects, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and gain exposure to a range of design applications through live work, leadership learning sessions, site visits to local projects, and social events in the office. There are also opportunities to get involved in Employee Resource Groups and contribute to Arup’s inclusive and collaborative culture.Develop, design, and produce various graphic and promotional materials including infographics, presentations,
proposals, brochures, reports, newsletters, interactive documents, event collateral, email and social media content, advertisements, and miscellaneous graphic deliverables.Collaborate with marketing, technical, and business development teams to translate complex ideas into clear, engaging visuals.Apply conceptual thinking and problem‑solving skills to support visual storytelling.Take initiative in proposing creative ideas and improving visual deliverables.Support brand consistency and act as an ambassador and resource for colleagues on brand and visual communication standards.Assist in organizing and maintaining image libraries and graphic assets.Is this role right for you?We’re looking for current students who are curious and ready to evolve how you think and work.
