The Trade & Working Capital Intern will support in providing and executing theappropriatetrade & workingcapitalsolution for clients. You will contribute to the overall success ofTrade & Working Capital Solutionsinensuring specific client pitches,transactions,plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the overall business strategies andobjectivesof Global Transaction Banking. You will ensure that all activities conducted follow governing regulations, internalpoliciesand procedures.

- Work closely withDirector& Headand Associate Directors,Trade & Working CapitalSolutionsSpecialistandact as a subject matter expert
- Championaclientfocused culture todevelop the mostappropriate solutionthat enhances the overallclient relationship andleverageinternal and external stakeholderrelationships,systemsand knowledge. (e.g.legal,credit, operations)
- In collaborationwithDirector & Head and Associate Directors, Trade & Working Capital Solutions, responsible for providingsolutionstoclientsacross Canada and US.
- Contribute to the clients’ and GTBbusiness goals byproviding the right solution,



thatretainsand increasesthe overall profitability of theclient relationshipwhilemaintainingan acceptable level of risk
- In close collaboration withthe TMO andGBMRM,identifymarket trends that could drivenew opportunitiesto prepareand deliver client pitches,structureand analyze new transactions
- In close collaborationwith TMO and GBM RM, grow and expand existing programs and handle customer requests fornew issuances of Trade and Working Capital instruments,amendments of existing credit facilities,complete risk assessments and prepare credit presentations/recommendations
- ReviewTrade & Working CapitalProduct terms and credit/legal documentation in conjunction with internal and external Legal Counsel, culminating in the closing of transactions
- Lead end-to-endproductonboarding of new clients by coordinating with internal partners (TMO,Corporate Banking, GRM,Execution, Operations, GBM Onboarding).
- Identifyand provide risk mitigation strategiessuchthat,the risk ofanyTrade & Working Capital Solutionis within theBank’s risk appetite andourrisk culture
- Pursue effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
