VanPile is seeking an experienced and motivated Quality Control Supervisor to join our team on a major AltaGas Project in Prince Rupert, BC.
Reporting directly to the Project Manager, the Quality Control Supervisor will be responsible for leading all on-site quality assurance and quality control activities, ensuring compliance with project specifications, regulatory requirements, client expectations, and company standards. This role will provide leadership and oversight of the project's quality program while supporting successful project execution from construction through turnover.
This position is offered as a 12-month fly-in/fly-out contract with a 14-day on / 7 days off rotation, including company-paid travel and accommodations.

As the Quality Control Supervisor, you will play a key leadership role in ensuring construction activities are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved specifications and quality requirements. You will work closely with project management, clients, subcontractors, inspectors,
and construction teams to drive quality performance and project success.
Key Responsibilities
Report directly to the Project Manager and lead all site quality control activities.
Supervise and coordinate quality inspectors and third-party inspection services.
Ensure compliance with client specifications, project requirements, company procedures, and applicable industry standards.
Develop, implement, and maintain project quality plans, inspection and test plans (ITPs), and quality documentation.
Oversee system walk-downs, turnover activities, punch list management, and project completions.
Coordinate and facilitate the timely completion of turnover packages and quality records.
Serve as the primary quality liaison with clients, regulatory agencies, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.
Monitor quality verification activities throughout all construction phases.
Lead the management and resolution of Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), corrective actions, and quality concerns.
Review and approve quality documentation, inspection reports, and turnover records.
Coordinate Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) activities and specialty inspections.
Oversee receiving inspections of materials, equipment, and project deliveries.
Conduct audits, inspections, and quality assessments to ensure compliance.
Support continuous improvement initiatives and lessons learned programs.
Provide mentoring, coaching, and guidance to field personnel regarding quality requirements and best practices.
Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum 7-10 years of quality control, quality assurance, or inspection experience within industrial, marine, energy, heavy civil, or infrastructure construction projects.
Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership capacity.
Strong multi-discipline knowledge in:
Structural Steel
Welding
Coatings
Mechanical Systems
Electrical Systems
Thorough understanding of QA/QC systems, inspection processes, turnover requirements, and quality documentation.
Strong ability to review engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
Experience working on large industrial, oil & gas, LNG, marine, or infrastructure projects.
Proficiency with:
Microsoft Office Suite
Adobe Acrobat Pro
Experience with quality management systems, audits, and systems completion processes.
CWB Welding Inspector Level I Certification is considered a strong asset.
Additional quality certifications are considered an asset.

Competitive Compensation
$85 - $100 per hour
Compensation will be based on experience, qualifications, certifications, internal equity, and Carlson Construction Group compensation practices.
