At the Ontario Native Women’s Association (ONWA), this crucial role involves providing comprehensive mental health support. You will engage in counselling, case management, crisis intervention, and connect clients to traditional healing. Your expertise will significantly impact the lives of Indigenous populations facing mental health, trauma, and substance abuse challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide holistic counselling services tailored to client needs
• Conduct clinical assessments and develop individualized plans
• Manage crisis intervention and support referrals
• Advocate for access to traditional healing practices
• Develop and deliver mental health programs for Indigenous communities
Requirements:
• Diploma or degree in Counselling, Social Work, or Mental Health
• 3-5 years’ experience with Indigenous mental health issues
• Background in trauma-informed care practices
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Knowledge of Indigenous cultures and trauma impacts
