Join School District 72 as a Child and Youth Worker focusing on Indigenous learners at Pinecrest Elementary. This permanent position emphasizes cultural education and academic support tailored to Indigenous students. In collaboration with educators and mental health specialists, you will play a crucial role in bridging cultural differences and promoting emotional and academic success for students and their families.
This role entails developing meaningful connections and addressing barriers to education while respecting Indigenous heritage. Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate to create an inclusive school atmosphere
Encourage consistent school attendance and participation
Act as a liaison between home and school
Contribute to behavior management initiatives
Ensure confidentiality of sensitive information Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in child and youth care
At least one year working with at-risk populations
Understanding of Indigenous cultures and community engagement
Class 5 BC Driver’s License is required
