Primary Purpose of the Role: The Logistics Operations Coordinator at Hecny Transportation is crucial for overseeing and optimizing the operational aspects of logistics and freight activities in Vancouver.
Key Responsibilities:
Logistics Support and Billing/Invoicing:
Act as the primary support for day-to-day air & ocean freight operations, ensuring operational excellence:
Coordinate and monitor air and ocean freight shipments, overseeing the entire process from quoting to booking and final mile delivery.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate and timely documentation for shipments.
Address operational challenges promptly, working to resolve issues and maintain smooth operations.
Proactively communicate with stakeholders, providing updates on shipment status and addressing inquiries and billing jobs.
Carrier and Co-loader Negotiations:
Negotiate with carriers and co-loaders to maintain competitive rates, particularly during peak seasons, while ensuring service quality.
Networking and Partnership Building:
Build and maintain relationships with key operational partners and agents fostering collaboration and ensuring reliable service delivery.
Global Trade Coordination:
Contribute to the coordination of inter-Hecny trade between global offices, ensuring smooth operational interactions.
Vendor Management and Collaboration:
Develop and maintain relationships with reliable Logistics and Warehouse providers in Vancouver for seamless collaboration in operational activities.
Process Optimization:
Continuously assess and optimize logistics processes to enhance efficiency and reduce operational costs.
Skills:
Fluent in English.
Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel.
Must be able to legally work in Canada.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, or a related field.
Proven experience in logistics operations and process optimization.
