Your Prospect:
Safety Ambassadors aid in the safe delivery of healthcare to Albertans. In this role, you provide non- enforcement related support to Protective Services and Clinical Care teams through a range of safety focused tasks and duties. The primary purpose of the role is to identify potential or imminent safety risks and to activate an appropriate response. This may include offering assistance or support, engaging in verbal de-escalation, alerting Peace Officer team members, collaborating with nursing and medical staff, and/or contacting Police of Jurisdiction. As a Safety Ambassador, duties will include monitoring and patrolling AHS facilities to identify potential safety risks or hazards; including complex, violent, or aggressive/ disturbing behaviors involving patients, visitors or others frequenting AHS facilities. Safety Ambassadors often work in the Emergency Department and are responsible for access control, screening, and wayfinding. PLEASE NOTE - This posting will be used to recruit for multiple openings.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Select candidates will be required to successfully complete the mandatory AHS’ Tactical Communications Course in order to obtain employment in this role. Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, walking around for the majority of a shift, working in a hospital workplace.
Preferred Qualifications:
Valid First Aid and CPR Level C - AED certification.
