Thornhill Child Care Society (TCCS) is seeking certified Substitute Kindergarten Teachers to provide occasional classroom coverage at two of our Calgary locations.

This is a versatile chance for current graduates, retired teachers, or certified teachers looking for casual work in a supportive, inclusive early learning environment.

Position Details
Wage: $45.00 per hour
North Calgary: 3-hour shifts
Haysboro: 6-hour shifts
Employment: Casual / On-Call
Locations: North (6617 Centre St N) and Haysboro (140 Haddon Rd SW)

You can provide your availability and accept substitute shifts that work for your schedule.

What You’ll Do
Follow the regular teacher’s classroom plans, routines, and schedule
Provide engaging, developmentally appropriate Kindergarten learning experiences
Maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom
Work collaboratively with Educational Assistants and classroom staff
Support children with diverse learning, communication, and self-regulation needs
Follow TCCS policies and Alberta Education ECS expectations

Qualifications

Required:
Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate (Interim or Permanent)
Current Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Search
Current First Aid/CPR certification or willingness to obtain

Experience with Kindergarten, inclusive education, play-based learning, FLIGHT, structured literacy/UFLI, or supporting children with diverse learning needs is an asset.
