Duties
Safely operate Class 1 commercial trucks to transport freight over long or short distances, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies
Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, including checking brakes, lights, tires, and other critical systems
Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment when necessary, ensuring proper handling and securement of cargo
Maintain accurate documentation for each trip, including delivery logs, inspection reports, and freight manifests
Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients,
and team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues encountered during transit
Perform minor automotive repairs or troubleshooting as needed to keep trucks in optimal condition
Operate heavy equipment such as forklifts to load or unload freight safely and efficiently
Experience
Valid Class 1 commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record
Proven experience in commercial driving, preferably with freight transportation or logistics companies
Knowledge of safety regulations related to heavy vehicle operation and freight handling
Ability to perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting on trucks and related equipment
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for documentation and inspection procedures
