BASIC FUNCTION

Under general supervision and in accordance with established company policies and procedures, the Tax Preparer provides a variety of services related to income tax preparation. This position has access to and regularly works with information of a sensitive and highly confidential nature. Tax Preparers regularly deal with a variety of matters that require a working knowledge of the business. As a representative of TJ Tax, the Tax Preparer is responsible for providing an outstanding client experience, first interviewing the client to determine their needs, and then offering the appropriate product or service to meets these needs. The Tax Preparer is expected to provide an accurate and complete tax return, conscientiously and with maximum integrity.



The Tax Preparer will communicate effectively with both clients and fellow TJ Tax associates, promoting teamwork and collaboration throughout the tax office.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Greet all customers
Interview potential clients
Provide detailed information to clients about relevant company products and services
Prepare or assist in preparing simple to complex tax returns for individuals and/or families
Contact clients for additional information, if needed, to ensure accurate completion of tax returns
Audit tax return forms for accuracy and completeness (e.g. client signatures)
Maintain a positive image
Maintain a positive office image; keep work area neat and clean
Perform other duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS
Bilingual, French and English
Previous experience in tax preparation (not required, but preferred)
Customer service skills
Knowledge of DT MAX (not required, but preferred)
Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced business environment
Knowledge of computer functions required
Ability to work under minimal supervision
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends
Desire to explore current opportunities
A background check will be completed
