We are seeking a skilled and safety-minded Heavy Equipment Loader Operator to join our team. In this role, you will operate large front-end loaders to move, blend, and load aggregate materials (rock, sand, gravel) into haul trucks and hoppers within our pit operations.
Core Responsibilities:
Material Handling: Safely load haul trucks, crushers, and feed hoppers while optimizing cycle times and monitoring weight distributions.
Pit Maintenance: Maintain clean and orderly stockpiles, keep pit floors explicit of debris, and assist with general site housekeeping.
Equipment Care: Perform required daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections, document equipment conditions, and complete basic maintenance like greasing and fueling.
Team Communication: Coordinate closely with truck drivers, plant operators, and site supervisors via two-way radio to ensure protected and productive material flow.
Safety Adherence: Strictly follow all company safety policies, site specific rules, and provincial mining/quarry regulations.
Qualifications & Skills:
Experience: Minimum of 2+ years operating large front-end loaders (e.g., CAT 980 or larger) in a pit, quarry, or heavy civil construction environment.
Licensing: Valid Class 5 driver's license (or equivalent) with a clean commercial driving record.
Technical Skills: Strong ability to read pit layouts, judge distances, and safely maneuver large machinery in tight or high-traffic zones.
Physical Capability: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb in and out of heavy machinery, and work extended shifts in varying outdoor weather conditions.
