We are seeking a friendly organized Receptionist/Optometric Assistant to join our optometric practice. The ideal candidate enjoys working with people, provides excellent patient service and is comfortable handling both front desk responsibilities and assisting with day-to-day clinical flow of the office, including pretesting patients. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, and eager to support both clinical and administrative functions within our optometry practice.
Duties
Greet patients warmly and efficiently manage the check-in and check-out process to ensure a positive first impression.
Schedule appointments accurately using electronic medical records systems.
Maintain accurate patient records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with healthcare regulations.
Handle phone inquiries, provide information about services, and coordinate follow-up appointments as needed.
Provide exceptional patient care by addressing questions, offering support, and ensuring comfort throughout visits.
Perform preliminary Pretests for Patients including tonometry, retinal imaging, visual field, and other diagnostic tests where applicable.
Assist optometrist and other team members as required.
Help maintain a clean, organized reception, and pretest area
Manage retail optical sales by assisting the optician with administrative duties, and processing patient transactions.
Support inventory management of optical supplies and medical equipment to ensure availability for daily operations
Skills
Excellent Customer Service and interpersonal skills
Proven experience working with electronic medical records in an Optometric clinic
Ability to remain calm and courteous in a busy office
Excellent front desk skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in a busy environment.
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage appointment schedules for doctors and opticians
Experience and knowledge of various pretesting procedures
Knowledge of dry eye procedures is highly desirable
Previous optometry experience is required.
