The Payroll Manager is responsible for the accurate and timely administration of bi-weekly payroll, including payroll preparation and transmittal, staff deductions, benefit and pension deductions, data entry, and preparation and distribution of employee pay stubs. The Payroll Manager maintains confidentiality and accuracy while ensuring payroll processes are completed in accordance with organizational policies and applicable requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and transmit bi-weekly payroll accurately and within established deadlines.
Enter and maintain payroll and employee information in payroll systems.
Process staff deductions and payroll adjustments.
Administer employee medical/perk deductions and pension deductions, including maintaining accurate records and ensuring deductions are properly processed and remitted.
Prepare and distribute employee pay stubs.
Maintain accurate and confidential payroll and employee records.
Respond to employee payroll, benefit deduction,
and pension-related inquiries and assist with payroll concerns.
Ensure payroll information is accurate, complete, and up to date.
Perform other related administrative and payroll duties as required.
Qualifications
Grade 12 education required.
Preferred: Business College Diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Demonstrated computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Publisher.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive employee and payroll information.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and meet established deadlines.
