Cascades Recovery is looking to hire reliable sorters to join our Burnaby team and help us audit and clean our recycled material that we have diverted from landfills. This is a full time position, with full benefits after the successful completion of a probationary period. The shift is Monday - Wednesday 2:30pm - 11pm; Saturday - Sunday - 8am - 4pm.

Working as part of a plant team, the job of a Sorter within our recycling plant involves the safe and efficient sorting, grading and placement of recycled materials in their appropriate areas according to the specified requirements and production standards.

Applicants must be physically fit, be able to handle repetitive motion, light lifting for extended periods of time and all other aspects of the job as required.

Responsibilities:
Recognize contaminants in baled material
Physically removing found contaminants
Ability to work efficiently in a team workplace
Follow specific production standards and guidelines
Other tasks as assigned

Qualifications:
High standard of safety as the position requires the employee to work in a busy co-habitation area (pedestrians and mobile equipment)
Positive team player
Excellent attendance
First-aid certificate is an asset
