We’re seeking a Cultivation Technician to support daily operations inside our grow room. This is a hands-on, physically active role suited to someone with a green thumb, a solid work ethic, and keen attention to detail.
Key responsibilities include:
Pruning, harvesting, transplanting, and general crop maintenance of strawberry plants
Scouting on a set schedule to assess crop health, growth stages, and vigour, and to catch early signs of pest or disease pressure
Reporting abnormalities and escalating pest or disease findings to the growing team
Supporting irrigation and fertigation processes
Applying pest and disease control measures (training provided)
Leading a small crew as needed — assigning daily tasks, training current staff, and maintaining work quality and pace
Cleaning and sanitizing grow areas to meet food safety standards
Accurately documenting crop data and activities in internal systems
IDEAL CANDIDATE
Demonstrated experience in plant scouting and pest/disease scouting
Hands-on experience with pruning and other crop maintenance work
Previous team lead, crew lead, or supervisory experience is strongly preferred
Background in horticulture, greenhouse operations, berry production, or plant science is an asset
A post-secondary degree or diploma is not required, but is considered an asset
Energetic, dependable, and enthusiastic about plant care
Highly detail-oriented and quality-focused
Physically fit and comfortable with standing, lifting, and repetitive tasks
Strong communication and record-keeping skills in English
Proficiency in MS Word and Excel
