Our company is looking for a local experienced FCAW all-position welder to join our team at the Tyrod Shop in Prince George, BC for shop fabrication. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of flux-cored arc welding experience on structural steel and a strong attention to detail.
Duties:
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, weld symbols, and WPS/WPDS documentation
Perform FCAW welding in all positions (flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead) to CWB-qualified procedures
Set up and adjust wire feeders, voltage, wire feed speed, and shielding gas for varying joint configurations and material thicknesses
Fit up, tack, and weld structural steel components and assemblies
Perform air-arc gouging, grinding, and back-gouging as required
Complete visual inspection of own work and correct defects prior to QC hand-off
Operate welding and fabrication equipment safely and effectively
Maintain a clean and organized work area
Always follow safety procedures and protocols
Requirements:
Certified Journeyperson Welder
Current CWB certification in FCAW, all positions, required
5+ years of welding experience, with demonstrated FCAW structural fabrication experience
Ability to pass an in-house weld test prior to start
Ability to read and work to fabrication drawings and welding procedures
Demonstrate working well with co-workers and completing tasks presented by the supervisor
Class 5 driver's licence
Located in Prince George, BC
You will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and always comply with safety protocols and procedures.
Opportunities for overtime may be available to address project demands and emergency situations.
What We Offer:
40-hour work week, regular work hours, 6am–2:30pm (Mon–Fri)
Competitive hourly wage ($38.00 – $45.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications)
