The incumbent provides leadership, management, and direct support in the supervision of staff.Ensures accountability for the delivery of nursing care and allied services by demonstrating and promoting leadership within the organizationAssists in the development and implementation of policies and procedures as requiredProvides creative and innovative leadership in developing programs and activities that promote quality of life for residentsFosters professional development and ensures that all staff work within their scope of practice and are accountable to residents, to their professional regulatory body, and to their colleaguesDemonstrates in-depth knowledge and communication skills required to effectively address issues such as ethical and moral, and manage conflict resolutionMinimum QualificationsMust possess a Bachelor of Nursing DegreeThe successful applicant must be active or eligible for registration with the College of Registered Nurses and Midwives of Prince Edward Island.Extensive clinical nursing experience and considerable experience at the management or supervisory level.Experience and ability to work effectively with multiple health disciplines and all staffDemonstrated leadership/management including budget management, risk management, strategic planning, policy and program development,



and evaluation processes. Demonstrated equivalencies will be consideredDemonstrated teaching and leadership skills which includes effective communication skills and evidence of self-directionWorking knowledge of the health sector, collective agreements, performance management principles, employee/labor relations is requiredAn understanding of Health PEI’s mission, goals, and objectivesComputer and word processing skillsGood previous work and attendance recordOther QualificationsExperience working in long term care is an asset.
