About the Role

The Company is seeking a Chief Safety and Security Officer to provide strategic leadership and oversight of safety and security operations across its three campuses. The successful candidate will be responsible for a wide range of functions, including law enforcement, crime prevention, community safety, emergency preparedness and response, and security technology. This role involves developing and implementing institutional strategies, policies, and programs to ensure a safe and secure environment that supports the academic mission and institutional priorities.



The Chief Safety and Security Officer will also be the primary advisor to University leadership on public safety, security, and emergency management, and will be expected to lead during critical incidents and major emergencies.

Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, with a Master's degree preferred, and a minimum of 15 years' of law enforcement or public safety experience, including significant senior leadership responsibility. The role requires a candidate with a strong background in campus safety, law enforcement, and public safety, particularly within a higher education or similarly complex organization. Essential qualifications include comprehensive knowledge of contemporary safety and security practices, emergency management principles, and relevant legislation. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in strategic planning, budget management, and building effective partnerships with a diverse range of stakeholders. Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills are essential, as is the ability to lead with integrity, professionalism, and a commitment to equity and inclusion.
