Further, they are responsible for the review, processing and approval of mortgage applications, ensuring strict adherence to Strive’s residential mortgage underwriting policy, procedures, and applicable guidelines.Responsibilities:Deliver an exceptional customer service experience in every interactionInvestigate, evaluate, negotiate, and approve or decline applications based on authorized lending limits and within Strive Capital’s Residential Underwriting guidelines and current legislationAssist other Underwriters and Fulfillment with questions or concernsBuild, maintain and enhance customer service levels. Verify and validate customer eligibility and material risk documentation for accuracy while mitigating any concerns surrounding suspected misrepresentationGather any necessary information required to coordinate and analyze credit applications and ensure consistent, objective, and sound credit decisions in a high-volume environmentAnalyze and submit recommendations regarding credit applications which exceed their authorized limitAnalyze and submit (where applicable) applications requiring Mortgage Insurer approval,



in compliance with guidelinesVerify data and information on mortgage applications and credit bureaus to ensure accuracyEnsure the attainment of service standards for processing applications in accordance with company policies and proceduresResolve any escalated credit issues, reply to internal and external client queries, and communicate credit decisionsKeeps up to date on applicable legislation, as well as on the company’s policies, programs, procedures, and mortgage insurer policiesEnsure awareness and compliance with all aspects of the QA programContinuously learn, adapt, engage, and grow in your role and as an integral part of the organizationRegulatory:Complete all mandatory training, specifically:RegulatoryPrivacyCompliance and risk managementAML/ATFQuality AssuranceAct at all times in accordance with Strive’s risk appetite as defined by the RMUPConfidentiality:Maintain employee, customer and partner confidentiality as described by Strive’s Employee Handbook.Qualifications:University degree is an assetMust have previous single family residential mortgage underwriting experiencePrevious experience developing and maintaining positive broker relationshipsDetailed working knowledge of principles of residential mortgage underwriting and risk management, as well as real estate markets nationallyDemonstrated ability to flourish in a high-volume environmentAn ability to quickly assess and make accurate decisionsCommitment to grow as an individual by constantly learning and staying on top of industry changesStrong working knowledge of all 3 Mortgage Insurer programs and guidelinesPositive attitude and commitment to drive company growth with exceptional customer service, strong team collaboration and sound credit decisioningEmployment Type:Full time with regular working hours (currently remote and in-person hybrid working environment).About Strive:Strive was founded in 2020 and has since grown to a team of 85+ industry leaders with many years of experience.
