The Park features historical buildings, costumed interpreters, working antiques, and various exhibits that provide insight into the region's past.Job OverviewUnder the direction of the Streetcar Lead Motorman, the Tractor Wagon is operated and inspected at Heritage Park.ResponsibilitiesTractor OperationSafely and responsibly operate the tractor wagon in compliance with the Alberta Traffic Act and General Operating Instructions (GOI)Complete daily pre-trip inspections, top up fluids and grease axles, report defects and safety concernsTransport guests throughout the park efficiently while providing a comfortable ride, following designated routes and stopsCollect passenger counts to ensure accurate tracking of attendance and record data dailyAssist passengers in boarding and disembarking the wagon as needed and ensure they remain seated while the vehicle is in motionMonitor the radio for front gate clearances and respond to emergencies as necessaryProvide first aid assistance as requiredStay informed on the park layout and amenitiesRespond to emergencies calmly and efficiently, such as dealing with unexpected breakdowns or accidents,
prioritizing passenger safety and ensuring emergency procedures are followedCreate a welcoming atmosphere for visitors with a customer-focused approach, providing courteous and friendly customer service and information to enhance the overall visitor experiencePerform other duties as requiredOrganizational Excellence and WellbeingContribute to inspiring and immersive experiences at the Park through your roles and responsibilities by engaging in Heritage Park initiatives that align with the overall mission and vision of the ParkDemonstrate commitment to workplace health and safety by complying with Heritage Park's Health, Safety and Environment Management System (HSEMS), following safe work practices, reporting work‑related incidents, injuries and hazards, participating in employer training, and adhering policies including the Code of Conduct and the Workplace Violence and Harassment PolicyActively support a positive work environment through creating an atmosphere of inclusion, engagement and fulfillment in line with Heritage Park valuesDemonstrate responsible stewardship of our people, collections and financial assets by ensuring that they are handled with integrity, sustainability,
and a focus on long‑term benefits for the organization and its stakeholdersRequired QualificationsExperience in customer service roles and mechanical aptitude to handle minor troubleshooting and operate the tractor are preferredPrevious experience as a professional driver is preferredSatisfactory completion of a medical exam for a Class 5 driver’s license is requiredA valid Class 5 driver’s license is requiredMust pass a first-aid course and fire-extinguisher course supplied by Heritage ParkMust be able to familiarise oneself with accident injury reporting as required by Heritage ParkProblem identification and solving, as well as organizational skills, are requiredGood English language proficiency is required for effective communication, both verbally and in writing, to interact with park visitors to provide explicit and helpful informationDemonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills in a client‑faced settingAbility to work independently and as part of a teamAll successful candidates (over the age of 18) will be required to go through a Police Information Check as a condition of employmentSpecial Clothing and EquipmentAppropriate costuming and safety equipment will be provided by Heritage Park; andFootwear,as designated by the Heritage Park Costume Department, will be provided by the employee.Special Working ConditionsThe position will be exposed to weather extremes and will work both indoors and outdoors; andThis position is physically demanding, and the incumbent must have the ability to lift heavy items, sit for long periods, enter and exit the tractor frequently, and walk throughout the ParkThis position is trained and tested by the streetcar lead handHours of WorkThe position has various scheduled hours of work, including weekends, statutory holidays, fluctuating hours and overtime as required.#J-18808-Ljbffr
