DarkVision, a Koch Engineered Solutions company, is in search of a dedicated ILI Field Specialist to facilitate pipeline inspections across the United States and Canada. This role involves travelling extensively to maintain, test, and deploy Inline Inspection (ILI) tools. The role will be based in our HQ in North Vancouver, BC, and will require 50 to 75% out of town travel.Our TeamDarkVision’s award winning Kraken is an ultrasound‑based ILI system that performs crack detection, geometry, and metal loss measurements all in a single run, at full line speed, and at ultra‑high resolution. The team at DarkVision empowers operators to make well‑informed decisions by providing them with a clear view of their piping infrastructure. Join us on this exciting journey as we strive to become the leader in industrial imaging.What You Will DoField Operations: Prepare, operate, and troubleshoot ILI tools at various pipeline sites across the US and Canada. Oversee the deployment and recovery of the ILI vehicles.Maintain Equipment: Ensure that tools, parts, trucks, and critical equipment are checked, cleaned, calibrated, and verified for each job. Responsible for the care of the tools, outfitting of testing and support facilities, and tool planning and logistics between jobs.Troubleshooting: Deploying new technology naturally necessitates troubleshooting problems that arise in real‑time.
Ability to figure things out quickly and improvise under pressure.Collaboration on Product Testing: Work closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to help develop and follow processes to support testing of new ILI products. Provide feedback that contributes directly to product development.SOP Development and Documentation: Contribute to the development, creation, and organization of operating procedures, checklists, reports, and other program documentation.Communication: Quick, clear, and effective communication with customers, subcontractors, and DarkVision staff. Represent DarkVision with pride and uphold our reputation of excellent service quality.Everything & Anything: Perform a wide assortment of standard and non‑standard tasks inside and outside the typical field deployment umbrella, embracing an entrepreneurial approach.Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)Technical Education and Experience: A bachelor’s degree in engineering OR experience in either oilfield services or ILI.Ability to Travel: Willingness to perform a high volume of fieldwork (50 to 75% of the time) sustainably.US and Canada Work Eligibility: Existing legal work authorization for Canada and eligibility for a US work visa (e.G., TN visa for an engineer or scientific technician/technologist).Drug and Alcohol Testing: Must agree to ongoing drug and alcohol testing due to US Dept. of Transportation requirements.Communication Skills: Ability to communicate problems,
