Description Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Institute of Canada (HRAI) a not-for-profit national trade association that represents and advocates for member companies in the Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration industry (HVACR). Our members include wholesalers, manufacturers, contractors, and other professionals with an interest in this industry and improving its impact on the environment. We’ve been around for more than 50 years and believe it or not, still growing!
We are looking for a Program Coordinator – Environmental Services to join our team. Working closely with the Manager, Environmental Services, you will support programs including
Refrigerant Management Canada and the Thermostat Recovery Program , gaining hands‑on experience in environmental stewardship, program administration, reporting, audits, stakeholder engagement and industry outreach.
You do not need previous HVACR or environmental stewardship experience. We are looking for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, comfortable working with people and data, and interested in learning about environmental programs and sustainability.

The salary range for this role is $50,000-$55,000 annually.
What You Will Do
Support the day-to-day administration and coordination of environmental stewardship programs
Maintain accurate program records, databases, documentation and compliance information
Support the Manager with annual provincial reporting and updates to stewardship program plans
Coordinate documentation and information required for annual program audits
Respond to questions and provide program support to members,
contractors, wholesalers, manufacturers, collection depots and other program partners
Support relationships and communications with government departments, stewardship organizations, industry partners, committees and other stakeholders
Track program activities, deadlines, data and reporting requirements
Assist with budget tracking and annual budget preparation
Support program communications, education, outreach and engagement activities
Participate in meetings, working groups, industry events and conferences, as required
Look for opportunities to make program processes, communications and service delivery more efficient and effective
What You Bring
A post-secondary degree or diploma in business administration, environmental studies, sustainability, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
One to three years of experience in program coordination, administration, project support, stakeholder service, or a similar professional environment
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
The ability to manage multiple priorities, records and deadlines
Strong written and verbal communication skills and a service-focused approach
Comfort working with data, spreadsheets, databases and documentation
Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
The ability to work independently while also being a collaborative member of a team
An interest in environmental programs,
sustainability and learning about the HVACR industry
Nice to Have Experience in any of the following would be an asset, but is not required:
Environmental programs, sustainability, compliance or extended producer responsibility programs
Trade associations or not-for-profit organizations
Stakeholder or member relations
Working with government, industry partners or Boards and committees
Database management
