What's the Job?The Camp Manager is responsible for all camp and catering operations on site, overseeing both housekeeping and kitchen departments.The position involves a remote work lifestyle in a camp setting with the following amenities:All meals and accommodations are providedTravel is provided to and from the site locations from designated locations in the Winnipeg, Red Lake and surrounding areaPrivate room with cable televisionAccess to Wi‑FiAccess to laundry facilities and detergentsAccess to a gym and common areasKey ResponsibilitiesManaging the day‑to‑day activities of an assigned campUphold camp and workplace health and safety standardsMeet with clients and provide quality customer service by addressing their special requests and concerns in a prompt and effective mannerSupervising, training and managing staff performance issuesManage staff scheduling, payroll and daily and weekly meetingsInspect and ensure camp cleanliness, food quality and presentation; control inventory to meet or exceed expectationsPrepare and submit weekly and monthly reportsMaintain project budget; track occupancy, staffing and monitoring expensesPerform administrative tasks including liaison with the client, managing room bookings,
and preparing reportsTroubleshoot minor maintenance problems if necessaryQualifications5 – 8 years of experience in remote campsExceptional oral and written communication skillsAdvanced Food Safety certificate (required)First Aid certification (asset)Education in Food and Beverage or Hospitality Management (asset)Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Office 365, SharePoint, Excel, etc.)Acceptable Criminal Records CheckEffective leadership style, positive outgoing personality, and effective listening skillsPhysical demands:Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbsClimb ladders or stairsStand, walk, squat, kneel or sit according to task for extended lengths of timePerform repetitive hand work requiring full use of both handsPerform work with arms at full lengthWork with arms above shoulder heightBenefitsEnjoy excellent work‑life balance with a 3‑week on/3‑week off rotationOpportunity to expand skills in a large camp atmosphereGrowth prospect; the company is expandingImmediate impact and leadership opportunities as industry leaderWork Schedule and RemunerationCamp Managers work on a rotational schedule of 3 weeks on/3 weeks off.
