The role is part of the Canada Summer Jobs program and works in a dynamic, culturally diverse environment where children develop through play and learning.ResponsibilitiesEngage children through play, supporting curiosity and overall development.Collaborate with staff to co‑create curriculum and program activities.Observe children to inform programming and provide responsive experiences.Lead a group of children in play or intentional provocation.Provide respectful, age‑appropriate guidance during conflicts, aligned with the program’s core values.Build positive relationships with families and support their involvement.Maintain a safe and healthy environment by following childcare licensing regulations and safety procedures.Ensure safety during off‑site field trips and in transit.Participate in team meetings, career development sessions, and collaborative learning opportunities.Perform light housekeeping duties, including cleaning, sweeping, dishwashing,



and sanitising toys and equipment.May be required to work in other KNH childcare programmes to ensure continuity of care and licensing compliance.Perform other duties as needed.Skills & QualificationsMinimum 1 year experience in licensed childcare.Valid First Aid Certificate.Must be between 19 and 30 years of age (inclusive) and a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or refugee protection holder.Hours & Location35 hours per week for a fixed 8‑week term starting June 29, 2026. Shift rotations between 8:00 am and 6:00 pm.
