About the Role
As ATB’s next Capital Management Analyst, you will be the core driver of our monthly Economic Capital (EC) reporting process, while also providing critical cross-functional support for Regulatory Capital (RC). You will leverage up-to-date data platforms to run Monte Carlo simulations, update forecasting models, and ensure that ATB's capital metrics are accurately calculated, tracked, and visualized to support strategic decision-making.
Accountabilities
- Economic Capital Reporting: Manage the end-to-end monthly Economic Capital reporting lifecycle to ensure timely and accurate metrics for key stakeholders.
- Data Management & Analytics: Maintain data pipelines and execute modeling workflows to produce robust analytical insights across capital portfolios.
- Performance Visualizations & Reporting: Develop and maintain capital dashboards and executive reports to support strategic risk management and executive decision-making.
- Portfolio & Trend Monitoring:
Monitor credit quality, perform trend analysis, and track portfolio dynamics to support risk assessment and capital allocation.
- Cross-Functional Integration: Partner with internal teams to integrate risk parameters and ensure comprehensive coverage of banking book exposure.
- Governance & Process Improvement: Support data governance standards, promotion of validated data assets, and continuous optimization of reporting processes.
- Planning & Forecasting Support: Contribute to quarterly capital forecasts, annual budget preparation, and early warning signal analysis.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related discipline. Progress towards a CFA, FRM, or PRM designation is considered a strong asset.
- Technical Acumen: High proficiency in Python (Jupyterlab) and SQL (Google BigQuery) for complex data manipulation and financial modeling.
- Systems Experience: Experience navigating cloud environments such as GCP, executing monthly reporting processes, and maintaining complex Google Sheet workbooks.
- Domain Knowledge: Solid foundational understanding of Finance and Banking. Knowledge and experience in Capital Management, Economic Capital (EC), Expected Loss (EL), Regulatory Capital (RC), and Monte Carlo simulations are highly preferred.
- Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze large datasets, perform trend and sensitivity analysis,
and document model outputs clearly for stakeholders.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to data validation, ensuring inputs from varying financial sources accurately flow into our centralized EC reporting systems.
Workplace Arrangement
