Support Indigenous communities as a Family Service Worker, providing vital assistance to children and families in Rama First Nation and Barrie, Ontario. This role emphasizes assessment, intervention, and culturally competent practices.As a Family Service Worker, you'll directly engage with children and families facing challenges within the child welfare system, focusing on building resilience and empowerment. You will undertake comprehensive assessments, develop family-centered service plans, and collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure effective intervention strategies are implemented. Utilizing your knowledge of trauma-informed practices is essential for this role.Key Responsibilities:
Conduct assessments and interventions with cultural respect
Develop service plans to enhance child safety
Coordinate and monitor community services
Facilitate family conferences and engage in consultations
Prepare legal documentation and represent in courtRequirements:
Bachelor of Social Work Degree or equivalent
At least 3 years of experience with child welfare
Knowledge of Indigenous issues and trauma-informed care
Crisis intervention and advocacy skills
