Role Description The Dental Assistant/Office Floater is a full-time, on-site roles. This role supports dental care delivery by preparing treatment rooms, assisting dental professionals Dentists & Dental Hygienists during procedures, managing instruments and materials, and ensuring proper sterilization and infection control. Day-to-day tasks include greeting and seating patients, supporting oral care procedures, updating charts, and coordinating with front-office staff on scheduling, patient flow, and basic administrative tasks.
The office floater aspect of the role involves helping where needed throughout the clinic, such as organizing supplies, assisting with records, and maintaining a clean, safe environment for patients and team members. The person in this role works closely with the dental team to provide efficient, empathetic, and high-quality patient experiences. Taking radiographs, charting and assisting if needed.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated skills in Dental Assisting and Dentistry to support clinical procedures and chairside care.
- Knowledge of Dental Care and Oral Care practices to help educate and support patients during visits.
- Experience with Sterilization and infection control protocols to maintain a safe clinical environment.
- Completion of a recognized dental assistant program or certification or licensing as required by provincial regulations is an asset. HARP Certification is a must

- Solid attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills to support both clinical and office workflows.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced setting.
- Comfort with basic administrative tasks, such as scheduling, chart updates, and handling patient information in a confidential manner.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and assist with patient seating and positioning; capacity to follow safety and regulatory guidelines.
