Role Description This is a full-time remote role for a Driving Instructor, with instruction and coordination conducted primarily through remote scheduling, communications, and online tools, while in-car training is delivered in person to learners.

The Driving

Instructor will conduct driving lessons, assess student skills, and provide clear, constructive feedback to help learners prepare for BDE, G2, and G road tests.

Responsibilities include planning lesson routes, teaching defensive driving techniques, explaining traffic laws and road safety practices, and maintaining accurate student records. The instructor will communicate with students and guardians regarding progress, schedules, and program details,



and ensure that all training complies with MTO standards and Arrowstar Driving School policies. The role also involves promoting a calm, professional learning environment and adapting teaching methods to meet individual student needs.

Qualifications

- Strong instructional and coaching skills, including the ability to explain driving concepts clearly and adapt teaching methods to different learning styles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with diverse learners, families, and colleagues in a professional and respectful manner.
- Solid knowledge of Ontario traffic laws, road safety regulations, and defensive driving practices, with a commitment to promoting safe driving habits.
- Organizational and time-management skills to handle scheduling, lesson planning, and record-keeping using remote and digital tools.
- Valid Ontario driver’s license with a clean driving record; MTO-approved driving instructor certification (or eligibility and willingness to obtain it).
- Comfort using basic technology (email, scheduling software, online communication tools) to manage remote coordination and student communication.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure, demonstrate patience, and support nervous or first-time drivers in a positive learning setting.
- Previous experience in driver education, teaching, coaching, or customer service is an asset.
