About Eavor Technologies Inc.
Eavor (pronounced “Ever”) is a private, technology-driven energy company working to create a clean, reliable, and affordable energy future. Founded in 2017, Eavor combines expertise from the oil and gas industry with proprietary technology to expand what is possible in deep geothermal energy.
Our flagship innovation, the Eavor-Loop™, is a scalable, closed-loop geothermal system that circulates a benign working fluid through a sealed underground network. This subsurface “radiator” captures heat from deep underground while remaining isolated from the surrounding environment. The system requires no aquifer and can operate using a natural thermosiphon, reducing the need for pumps and enabling reliable, flexible, and dispatchable renewable heat and power with no greenhouse gas emissions during operation.
After successfully building and operating a demonstration facility in Alberta, Eavor is advancing commercial projects across Northern Europe, Canada, the United States, and Japan. Our first commercial-scale development in Geretsried, Germany, is designed to provide clean baseload energy for district heating and power generation.
We work with clients and partners around the world who share our commitment to innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning. As we grow, we are seeking up to two highly motivated and entrepreneurial Engineers-in-Training (EITs) who are eager to challenge conventional thinking, learn alongside experienced professionals, and help develop the next generation of clean energy solutions.
This is a hybrid role based in Calgary, Alberta.
Some Of What You Will Do
Working within a multidisciplinary international team in the Subsurface Engineering department with opportunities to support the Surface Engineering team, you will use your technical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills to commercialize the world’s first closed-loop geothermal systems.
The successful candidate will work on projects throughout North America, Europe, and Asia,
and there is ample potential for growth opportunities and professional development in our rapidly expanding technology start-up. The EITs in this role will be receiving both formal training and informal mentorship from senior team members and assisting with technical tasks.
Subsurface/Reservoir Engineering
Systems Engineering Team Descriptions
- Model and forecast Eavor-Loop performance using Eavor’s in-house tools and commercial engineering software to predict heat production, fluid flow, pressures and temperatures from early project development through operations
- Work with Geoscience, Drilling and Surface Engineering to design and optimize Eavor-Loops, integrating subsurface conditions, well configuration, and heat extraction requirements to improve system performance
- Support operating projects and develop new engineering solutions by comparing actual performance against forecasts, updating models, troubleshooting issues, identifying optimization opportunities, and creating new methods and tools.
Surface/Process Engineering
- Design the surface facilities that convert geothermal energy into useful heat and electricity, working with Subsurface Engineering, Drilling, Geoscience and other project teams to develop safe, efficient, and integrated systems.
- Use engineering calculations and process simulation to turn concepts into practical facility designs, determining the equipment, piping, utilities, and control systems required and supporting project scoping, cost development, and design coordination.
- Support and improve operating geothermal facilities by analyzing plant performance, troubleshooting equipment and process issues, identifying optimization opportunities,
and helping implement new technologies and design improvements.
Who You Are
- Registration as an Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T) in good standing with APEGA is an asset.
- Strong technical writing skills and experience with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint)
- Experience writing VBA, Python, R, or MATLAB code; Spotfire, PowerBI, and Visio experience is also an asset.
- , with the ability to reason from engineering first principles, think creatively, and develop solutions to novel or unfamiliar engineering challenges.
- Excellent communication abilities (written, presentation, and interpersonal).
- Passion for renewable energy and a desire for continuous learning.
- Ability to travel to the EU and Asian countries (e.g. Japan, Singapore, etc.) is preferred.
Why Eavor Technologies Inc.? At Eavor, we’re working to transform the future of clean energy. Our team is driven by a shared mission to develop scalable, reliable geothermal power that can help accelerate the global energy transition.
