Location: Cambridge, ON, CAJob Requisition ID:65457Department:Manuf. & Operations (DEPT_MFGOP)The Team Lead is instrumental in the smooth running of manufacturing operations by ensuring start-up and end of shift responsibilities are executed. Responsibilities include positive communication with team members while coordinating schedules, monitoring production, ensuring quality standards are met, and making recommendations for continuous improvement. The Team Lead is a positive influence on team members, through open communication, modeling H&S adherence and taking ongoing direction from the Production Supervisor.Key AccountabilitiesCoordination of Start-up & End of Shift TasksBased on Production Supervisor’s direction, communicate to the team the daily production scheduleCoordinate tasks to ensure daily production objectives are metProactively communicate any issues to the Production Supervisor and seek input on directionPrior to end of day processes being started, check the schedule and communicate any delays to Production SupervisorQuality & Production ResponsibilitiesReport problems or concerns with quality, processes, equipment, materials or labour to the Production SupervisorCommunicate any shortages or issues with materials to the Production SupervisorConvey scheduled changes and assist in redefining targets in quantities and timelinesEnsure the team meets quality standards through:InspectionEnsuring production output meets quality guidelinesProviding procedural training and ensuring related policies and procedures are being followedRecommend and support continuous improvement efforts and assist Production Supervisor in carrying out any changesSupport Other Manufacturing FunctionsAssist in all other tasks in department as needed including filling in for attendance vacanciesTrained to perform and support high level tasks related to Batcher, Packager and Material Handler Duties,



as necessary based on daily production demands.Provide back-up support for the Production Supervisor when they are not on-siteFrequent use of Microsoft office for communication, tracking and escalationsSafety ExcellenceFollow and model all Health & Safety guidelines and other Standard Operating Procedures and strive for zero work related incidentsProvide direction to team to ensure:clean and tidy work areas within the manufacturing facilityensure proper PPE is being usedany identified hazards are reported to the Production SupervisorOperate Reach Truck and Forklift in accordance with training certification guidelines.Must wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)Required to pass respirator fit testing and comply with the respirator policyReport any concerns from employees to the Production Supervisor and make recommendations for possible solutionsEducation and Experience RequiredHigh school graduation diploma or equivalentPrevious experience working in manufacturing within a Team Lead capacityPreferred candidates will have 5+ years of demonstrated experience working in a manufacturing setting with previous knowledge of chemicalsPrevious Forklift, Reach Truck and TDG certificationFamiliar with Microsoft office and ERP systems.Technical Skills and CompetenciesStrong understanding of Health & Safety best practices related to Receiving, Warehouse and Manufacturing environments, with knowledge of the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS)Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and other related softwareDetail oriented with strong attention to detailProven ability to lead a team,



delegate tasks and motivate employees.Ability to communicate effectively, & positively express and identify problems to the Production SupervisorEffective leadership and collaboration skills to work as the ‘middle’ person in conveying messages in a positive influential wayAbility to think creatively and problem solve when faced with new challengesAdaptable with the willingness to move to different areas of the manufacturing process as neededPhysical Demands and Working ConditionsThe position works within the manufacturing and warehouse areas. The environment at times may be noisy and hot during summer months. There is regular exposure to scents from chemicals.Physical demands of the position require standing, and moving product, including physically moving product using push/pulling force and frequent lifting of product.
