Twin Staffing is recruiting an experienced Small Engine Mechanic on behalf of an established equipment rental and industrial supply company in Yellowknife.
For more than 55 years, the company has supplied and supported equipment used in construction, winter-road development, industrial operations and projects throughout the Northwest Territories and Nunavut.
This is an excellent opportunity for a capable mechanic who enjoys variety, independence and troubleshooting equipment in both shop and field environments. The successful candidate will maintain and repair a diverse fleet of rental and customer-owned equipment.

Generators
Air compressors
Pumps
Welding equipment
Lawn and outdoor power equipment
Other small-engine and industrial equipment
The company represents leading manufacturers, including Kubota, Bobcat and Lincoln Electric, providing exposure to a broad range of equipment and technology.
Key Responsibilities
Diagnose mechanical, fuel, electrical and engine-related issues
Complete repairs, servicing and preventative maintenance
Maintain rental equipment and customer-owned machinery
Inspect, test and prepare equipment before returning it to serviceAccurately document repairs, parts and service requirements
Communicate clearly with customers, supervisors and other technicians
Maintain a safe, clean and organized work environment
Qualifications
Experience repairing small engines, power equipment or light construction equipment
Strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills
Knowledge of gasoline and diesel-powered equipment
Ability to work independently and manage repair priorities
Experience with generators, compressors, pumps or welding equipment is an asset
Strong commitment to safety, workmanship and customer service
Valid driver’s licence
Small Engine Mechanic, Outdoor Power Equipment Technician or equivalent certification is preferred
Northern or rotational work experience is considered an asset
Compensation and Benefits The company offers a competitive package based on qualifications and experience:
Starting wage of
$45+ per hour , depending on experience
Company staff housing available
Paid travel for rotational employees
Tools may be supplied if required
