Summary Of Duties
Assemble, align, and install structural steel warehouse racking components (including upright frames, beams, wire mesh decking, safety bars, and safety netting) in strict accordance with client engineering blueprints and design drawings.
- Safely unload heavy steel structural components from delivery trucks and systematically organize, stage, and store materials on-site to maintain a protected and productive work environment.
- Execute physical installation, dismantling, and repair tasks at elevated heights ranging from 20 to 40 feet utilizing scissor lifts, forklifts, and mandatory personal fall-arrest systems (safety harnesses and lanyards).
Drill precise concrete anchor holes using heavy-duty hammer drills, securely install mechanical and/or chemical concrete floor anchors, and utilize torque wrenches to tighten all structural connections to manufacturer specifications.
- Maintain clean and hazard-free active work areas throughout the shift, executing final cleanups (sweeping concrete dust, clearing metal debris)
to ensure client facilities are left spotless upon project completion.
Qualifications Ability to communicate effectively in English (both verbal and written) to ensure on-site safety, follow technical blueprint instructions, and coordinate with supervisors and team members.
- Must possess a valid Ontario G-Class Driver’s License (or provincial equivalent) in good standing with a clean driving abstract.
- Must be willing and able to successfully complete company-sponsored training and safety courses to obtain necessary certifications, including: Working at Heights (WAH), Forklift/MHE Operator License, and Scissor Lift & Elevated Work Platform (EWP) Operator License
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and perform continuous physical labor on concrete floors for extended periods of time (up to 8 to 10 hours per shift).
- Ability to safely lift, carry, and maneuver heavy metal structural components weighing up to 50 lbs on a regular, repetitive basis throughout the shift.
- Must bring/wear safety vest, CSA approved Safety shoes, Hard hat (Type-2) and Gloves.
