Postdoctoral Scholar in Infectious Disease (Virology and Vaccinology)

The role of the Postdoctoral Fellow is to actively pursue discovery science and complete a co-developed project with the PI where the project is focused in the development of viral vaccines. The Postdoctoral Fellow is responsible for establishing in partnership with the PI: a research project; career development plan; and mentoring junior lab members. The Postdoctoral Fellow will be also responsible for performing technical skills that are foundational to the project including vaccine development, virological infections, and vaccine evaluation using preclinical models and immunological assays such as Flow Cytometry and ELISA. Proficiency in specific laboratory techniques, biosafety, and laboratory administration such as writing experimental protocols are essential to the position. Communicating progress and data with the PI are also imperative.

Technical laboratory skills include but are not limited to the following: Design of vaccines on specific vaccine platforms, bioinformatic analysis of sequences, protein expression and isolation, viral infection procedures, immunological assays such as ELISPOT, ELISA, and Flow Cytometry Analysis.
