Role Description The Head of Mergers and Acquisitions is a full-time, on-site role based in Toronto, ON, responsible for leading AIOTF Software’s end-to-end M&A; strategy and execution. This role oversees the deal lifecycle, including sourcing AI targets, evaluating strategic fit, leading negotiations, and managing transaction closure. Day-to-day responsibilities include building and maintaining a robust deal pipeline, leading cross-functional due diligence, coordinating with finance and legal teams, and preparing investment cases and recommendations for senior leadership.
The Head of M&A; collaborates closely with corporate development and portfolio operations teams to ensure seamless integration planning and value realization. This position also involves monitoring market trends, developing relationships with founders, investors, and advisors, and representing AIOTF in external M&A-related; discussions and events.
Qualifications
- Strong expertise in Acquisitions and Corporate Development, including sourcing, structuring, and negotiating transactions.
- Demonstrated experience in Due Diligence, including commercial, financial, technical, and operational assessments.
- Solid background in Finance and Financial Modeling, with the ability to build and interpret complex valuation and scenario models.
- Proven track record leading M&A; initiatives in technology or AI-focused companies is highly beneficial.
- Advanced analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and risk management.
- Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills, including experience influencing senior executives and boards.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage multiple deals concurrently, and work effectively in a fast-paced, in office environment.
- Relevant academic background in finance, business, economics, or a related field; an MBA or equivalent advanced degree is an advantage.
