Twin Staffing is recruiting an experienced Heavy-Duty Equipment Technician on behalf of an established equipment rental and industrial supply company in Yellowknife. For more than 55 years, the company has supplied and supported equipment used in construction, winter-road development, industrial operations and projects throughout the Northwest Territories and Nunavut. This is an excellent opportunity for a capable technician who enjoys variety, independence and troubleshooting equipment in both shop and field environments.
The successful candidate will maintain and repair a diverse fleet of rental and customer-owned equipment, dividing their time between the Yellowknife shop and mobile service assignments. Equipment includes:
Manlifts and aerial equipment Skid steers and compact track loaders Wheel loaders Air compressors Generators Welding equipment Other rental, construction and industrial equipment The company represents leading manufacturers including Bobcat, Kubota, Develon/Doosan, JLG and Lincoln Electric, providing exposure to a broad range of equipment and technology.
Key Responsibilities
Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic and electrical issues Complete repairs, servicing and preventative maintenance Maintain rental equipment and customer-owned machinery Perform shop repairs and mobile field-service calls
Inspect equipment and identify required repairs before returning it to service Accurately document completed work, parts and service requirements Communicate clearly with customers, supervisors and other technicians
Maintain a safe,
clean and organized working environment Share knowledge with less-experienced technicians when required Qualifications
Experience repairing heavy-duty, construction or rental equipment Strong diagnostic skills across diesel, hydraulic and electrical systems Ability to work independently in the shop and on service calls
Experience with compact equipment, aerial lifts or similar machinery Strong commitment to safety, workmanship and customer service Valid driver’s licence Heavy Equipment Technician certification or Red Seal designation preferred
Northern, remote-site or rotational experience considered an asset Compensation and Benefits The company is prepared to offer a competitive package based on qualifications and experience: Wages of up to
