Industrial General Labourer / Mechanical Helper

Ward Welding Services Inc. – Markdale, Ontario

Full time | Monday to Friday

Ward Welding Services Inc. is looking for a dependable, mechanically inclined General Labourer to join our team full-time.

This is a varied, hands-on position supporting our work at a local industrial facility and on other job sites as required. The ideal candidate is comfortable tackling a wide range of practical jobs, using tools and figuring out how things work. No two days will be exactly the same.

Responsibilities

- Assist with general repairs, maintenance and installation work
- Assemble and install equipment, guards, platforms and other components
- Measure, drill, cut, fasten and fit materials
- Safely operate hand tools, power tools and shop equipment
- Move, organize and deliver tools and materials
- Assist welders and tradespeople when required
- Complete site cleanup and other general labour duties
- Troubleshoot basic mechanical problems
- Follow all company and site-specific health and safety requirements
- Take on a variety of additional hands-on tasks as they arise

Qualifications
- Mechanically inclined with strong practical problem-solving skills
- Comfortable using common hand and power tools




- Able to read a tape measure accurately
- Dependable, punctual and able to work with minimal supervision
- Willing to learn and take direction
- Physically capable of lifting, carrying and completing active work throughout the day
- Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation
- Able to work safely in an active industrial environment

Construction, fabrication, mechanical, farm, equipment-maintenance or industrial experience would be an asset, but we are willing to train the right person. Welding experience is not required.
