Role Description This full-time hybrid role for Building Mechanical and Electrical Engineers and Technicians at Groupe Genius is based in Québec, QC, with flexibility for partial work from home. The role involves designing, reviewing, and optimizing mechanical and electrical building systems, including power distribution and related infrastructure, in compliance with applicable codes and standards. Daily tasks include preparing technical drawings and specifications, participating in project calculations and simulations, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and external partners, and supporting site inspections and commissioning activities.

The position also requires contributing to project planning, identifying technical risks and mitigation strategies, and ensuring that solutions are productive, safe, and aligned with client requirements. Documentation, reporting, and ongoing collaboration with project managers and other stakeholders are integral to this role.

Qualifications

- Solid foundation in Electrical Engineering with practical knowledge of Electricity and Power Systems.




- Experience in Electrical Design and Power Distribution in building environments.
- Relevant technical or engineering degree in electrical, mechanical, or building systems engineering, or equivalent education and experience.
- Familiarity with local and national building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications, and to use CAD or similar design tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and quality.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working in multidisciplinary teams and with clients.
- Capability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities in a hybrid work environment.
- Professional engineering license or eligibility for licensing in Québec is an asset.
- Knowledge of French and English is beneficial for communication and documentation.
