Interior Designer – Residential Design & BuildWe are a collaborative residential design-build company seeking an experienced Interior Designer who brings both strong creative vision and technical construction knowledge to the table.We are specifically looking for someone with genuine design-build experience who understands how thoughtful design translates into real-world construction execution.The ideal candidate is highly organized, technically strong, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously while working closely with clients, trades, project managers, estimators, and site supervisors.You should be equally comfortable discussing layouts and finishes with clients as you are reviewing construction details, coordinating site conditions, reviewing millwork drawings, and supporting procurement and project coordination.About the RoleThis role manages residential renovation and custom home projects from initial concept through finalized design packages and into pre-construction coordination.You will guide clients through the design process, prepare detailed drawing and specification packages, collaborate with the construction team, and help ensure projects are carried through accurately from paper to site.We are looking for someone who understands that successful projects require:Solid technical executionOperational disciplineAccountabilityCreativity balanced with functionality and budgetKey ResponsibilitiesDesign & Client ExperienceLead clients through the residential design process from concept to finalized selectionsDevelop creative, functional, and buildable design solutions tailored to each client’s goals, lifestyle, and budgetWork confidently within both large-scale renovations and smaller budget-conscious projectsConduct site measurements, site reviews, and field verificationPrepare:ElevationsElectrical and lighting plansDetailed specificationsGuide clients through selections including:Cabinetry and millworkFlooringQuartz and countertopsTile and backsplashPlumbing fixturesAppliancesPaint coloursInterior doors and hardwareEnsure all layouts, dimensions, clearances,
and specifications are accurate and construction-readyCoordinate revisions and maintain updated documentation throughout the project lifecycleTechnical Strength RequirementsThe successful candidate must have strong technical and construction-based design experience, including:Millwork and shop drawing reviewSpecification development and specification managementStrong dimension accuracy and spatial planning skillsSite measurements and as-built verificationElectrical and lighting coordinationAppliance, cabinetry, and clearance planningConstruction drawing revisions and coordinationUnderstanding of residential construction sequencing and buildabilityAbility to proactively identify and resolve design or construction conflicts before installationStrong understanding of how design decisions impact budget, schedule, and construction executionConstruction Integration & Site CoordinationThis role is highly integrated with our construction team and requires someone comfortable working within an active design-build environment.Responsibilities include:Coordinating closely with project managers, site supervisors, trades, and estimatorsAttending site meetings and walkthroughs regularlySupporting projects through pre-construction and active construction phasesEnsuring design intent is clearly communicated to the construction teamReviewing site conditions and assisting in resolving field-related design issuesParticipating in pre-construction coordination and planningTaking ownership of ensuring drawings, specifications,
and selections align with site executionOperational Discipline & Project ManagementThis role requires a highly organized and accountable individual who can manage multiple moving parts simultaneously.Responsibilities include:Managing multiple active projects while meeting deadlines and maintaining accuracyTracking design hours and maintaining awareness of project budgetsSupporting scope management and communicating project changes clearlyMaintaining solid communication systems internally and externallyManaging documentation processes and revision controlUploading and maintaining project information within CoConstructAssisting with product ordering, procurement coordination, vendor communication, and tracking material lead times to align with construction schedulesOrganizing vendor quotes, pricing, and specification information for estimating and purchasing teamsSupporting smooth handoffs between design, estimating, administration, procurement, and construction teamsQualifications5–7 years of residential interior design experienceStrong preference for residential design-build experienceProficiency in AutoCAD and/or residential drafting softwareExperience preparing detailed residential drawing and specification packagesStrong understanding of residential construction methods, detailing, and coordinationExperience reviewing millwork and shop drawingsFamiliarity with CoConstruct or similar project management software preferredStrong organizational, time management, and communication skillsAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and deadlinesAI-forward mindset with openness to integrating technology and efficiency tools into workflowsValid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sitesWhat We’re Looking ForCreative eye balanced with technical executionStrong attention to detail and follow-throughA proactive, solutions-oriented mindsetSomeone comfortable wearing multiple hatsAbility to work independently while collaborating closely with a teamStrong communication and organizational skillsSomeone who takes ownership and accountability for their projectsA designer who understands that beautiful design also needs to be functional, buildable, organized, and clearly communicated#J-18808-Ljbffr
