AssessmentProgram: DRCC Patient CareDays: 8 Hour Shifts (Subject to Change)Location: Lakeridge Health OshawaWage Schedule: $28.980 - $30.290 per hourPosting Reference: 2600001434This position is open to all qualified CUPE staff throughout Lakeridge Health commencing 2 June 2026 and closing at 11:59 pm on 9 June 2026.Duties And ResponsibilitiesUnder the direction of the Patient Care Manager and Operations Coordinator, this position supports and coordinates patient care plans within the Diagnostic Assessment Program. The Unit Clerk supports the various members of the health care team, including physicians and nurses, to facilitate the flow of patient care.Duties include performing a wide variety of clerical functions within a clinical setting, including but not limited to: reception duties; scheduling and coordination of tests, appointments, and treatments; coordination of OR bookings, external image retrieval, computer data entry; directing telephone calls and contacting patients by phone; faxing;chart preparation; scanning and other duties assigned.QualificationsGraduate of a two year Community College Medical Secretary/ Medical Administration Diploma Program and previous recent related experience in a hospital clerical or doctor's office setting, or equivalent combination of education and experienceKnowledge and experience with accessing & viewing documents in OnBase, Connecting Ontario, EPIC including work queues, scheduling, patient registration preferredComplete knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, with an emphasis on oncology (tested)Basic level Word,
Excel and Outlook (tested)Demonstrated strong, accurate keyboarding skills (30 wpm tested)Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines and work productively amid interruptions while working within a stressful environmentProven ability to maintain strict adherence to patient confidentialityDemonstrated exceptional communication skills - verbal, listening and written in order to effectively interact with all levels of staff, patients and familiesProven ability to adapt positively to a changing environmentDemonstrated understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety programs and practices including staff, patient, and environmental safety and participation in regular in-service education in this areaConditions of EmploymentThe terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Hospital and C.U.P.E Local 6364.Successful External applicants must provide a satisfactory Criminal Investigation Reference for the vulnerable sector, dated within the past six (6) months.Lakeridge Health is committed to providing a protected and healthy work environment for all team members and patients.
