We are looking for an enthusiastic professional to join our Maintenance Department in the position of Maintenance Technician within our Barrhead Plant at 6203 46 Street. The work schedule will follow a 3-day work week, Sunday – Monday - Tuesday, working 12-hour day shift.
Reporting to the Finishing Plant Manager, the Maintenance Technician will be responsible for providing mechanical maintenance support on a variety of production equipment and building systems to support day to day operations of the plant. This includes performing routine preventative maintenance tasks, diagnostic and troubleshooting services, responding to emergency breakdowns and repairs, and accurate work order data entry. This position at times may also perform project work on an as needed basis for new installations and customizations on existing equipment to improve manufacturing efficiencies.

What You'll Do
- Assist in ensuring proper performance and operation of machinery and mechanical equipment for production
- Assist in minimizing production downtime by completing preventative maintenance inspections, planned work orders, and responding to breakdowns and emergency repairs in an expedited and efficient manner
- Assist by reading and interpreting job order specifications, schematic and blueprint drawings, written maintenance procedures, and other material to properly conduct job tasks
- Assist in completing documentation of repairs and maintenance performed, collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and adding it to a work order or work requisition
- Ensure a high standard of workmanship quality and delivered to prevent manufacturing equipment breakdowns
- Carry out all work in a protected and professional manner complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
- Maintain tidiness of work areas and equipment
- Ensure all tools, equipment and supplies are in excellent working order and complete order requests as needed
- Assist in other projects such as new installs and other duties as assigned

- Ability to perform work at heights and low light from time to time
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
- Attention to detail, problem -solving abilities, and time and organizational management skills
- Punctual and willing to work shift work and overtime on short notice
What You'll Bring
- High school diploma
- Scissor lift and Fall Protection valid certifications will be an asset, but willing to train in, is mandatory
- Previous experience in diagnostics, troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance within a manufacturing environment; experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) is an asset
- Working knowledge of computer software including Microsoft Office, Auto CAD, Access Databases, as well as basic knowledge of PLC troubleshooting, instrumentation theories and bearing failure analysis
