Your future role on our team We’re looking for an intermediate electrical engineer with strong business acumen to manage projects and develop business relationships with our clients in Abitibi.
As a member of our team, you’ll help with many stages of project execution, from proposals, site monitoring and equipment commissioning in substations to industrial power system analyses, detailed engineering, equipment specifications and site surveys.
Your tasks will include preparing drawings, material lists, wiring lists, technical specifications and estimates using established calculation and design methods. You’ll also carry out various activities in substations. Additionally, you’ll be responsible for providing quality professional service and maintaining positive client relationships.

Prepare, draft and produce study reports
Design power systems and finalize related engineering documents

Share your technical knowledge with younger engineers on the team to prepare for a smooth technical succession
Apply BBA’s health and safety policy and take the necessary preventive or corrective measures to perform your work safely; familiarize yourself with BBA’s prevention program; and apply the guidelines specific to your position

Summary Of Certifications And Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec
From 5 and 12 years of relevant experience in power systems and MV and HV equipment
Available to travel between our Mont-Saint-Hilaire and Val-d’Or offices
Available for short-term (required) and long-term (asset) assignments outside BBA offices
In-depth knowledge of electrical installation safety
Thorough knowledge of MV and HV equipment and switchgear
Intermediate knowledge of test equipment
Intermediate knowledge of workplace safety (workers’ compensation) and site monitoring
Knowledge of power flow and short-circuit studies, protection coordination and arc-flash hazard analysis
Familiarity with the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, MS Project, Excel)
Proficiency in ETAP, EMTP-RV, CYME and PSAF
Advanced English skills to facilitate collaboration with other BBA offices and/or clients in English-speaking Canadian provinces and internationally; you may need to use English occasionally or daily, depending on current projects
Advanced French skills to facilitate collaboration with other BBA offices and/or clients in Québec
Ability to draft technical documents in both English and French
