Position Title: Medical Review Officer Assistant, Medical Review Office (MRO)

Hours: Full-time Monday-Friday, variable based on business needs

We are seeking a Collection Technician become an important member of the on-site team. This position plays an significant role in the overall success of the organization and requires professionalism, accuracy, the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and flexibility in working hours.

The primary focus of the Collection Technician would be to work independently on various office administrative duties and other duties as assigned by management. You will be responsible to work in conjunction with the Clinic Team Lead and Regional Manager.

The primary focus of the Medical Review Officer Assistant is to assist the Medical Review Officer (MRO) by performing the administrative tasks associated with the medical review officer's job duties. They are responsible for organizing and reviewing all the paperwork associated with Alcohol and Drug Testing. This position plays an important role in the department and as a member of the team, your contribution ensures that the department runs smoothly and efficiently. You will be responsible to work in conjunction with the MRO department Team Lead.

Operational Functions





- Work in conjunction with all Results department team members to ensure the positives results processes operate efficiently on a daily basis;
- Ensure services are compliant with applicable legislation;
- Follow DriverCheck’s policies and procedures;
- Assist in developing and implementing new service offerings, working with appropriate team members across the organization;
- Ensure high levels of quality and professional customer service among clients, test participants, collection sites, and laboratories;
- Work to create a service driven process;

Department Specific Functions

- Responsible for ensuring the accurate processing and reporting of all non-negative drug and alcohol results in addition to non-negative CAS results;
- Work in conjunction with the Medical Review Officers on all non-negative results;
- Provide administrative support to the MROs when they are working in the office and remotely;
- Prepare files for legal proceedings as required;
- Conduct follow-up correspondence with clients in the event of “no-show” test participants and delayed test results;
- Support the case management team with document entry;

What you need to be successful in the role:

- High school diploma;
- 6+ months experience in the medical field would be preferred;
- Excellent customer service and communication skills;
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy;
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities;
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive medical information in accordance with privacy requirements;
- Proficient computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office applications and data entry systems;
- Ability to interpret and follow established procedures, policies, and regulatory requirements;
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills;
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment;
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities;
- Experience reviewing testing documentation and laboratory reports is considered an asset;
- Knowledge of drug and alcohol testing processes is considered an asset;
- Demonstrated ability to communicate professionally with clients, physicians, laboratories, and internal stakeholders;

MRO dept hours

9am-8pm Monday to Friday

9am-5pm Saturday (1 in 5 rotation once fully trained)

40 hour work week
