Experience

- Previous experience must include at least 1 year in Emergency nursing

Education

- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)

Other Education and Training

- Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) or other trauma assessment course desired
- Requires adult SANE training accredited by Inter’l Assoc of Forensic Examiners.
- Licensed, and in good standing, with regulatory body, if applicable
- Required to be SANE certified and maintain that certification
- Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS)

Knowledge and Abilities

- Demonstrates an understanding of Emergency Department flow and function
- Ability to identify needs of sexually assaulted patients in a timely manner
- Ability to deal tactfully, non-judgmentally and effectively with people
- Ability to use compassionate sensitive approach relating to victims & families
- Superior interpersonal, communication and writing skills
- Ability to ascertain when the situation would require a physician’s attention
- Participates in continuous quality improvement activities




- Ability to perform technical emergency nursing duties with skill and competence

- Valid Class 5 driver's license
- Ability to travel when required
