Our stores provide pet food, treats, supplies, grooming‑related services, and knowledgeable customer support.We are looking for team members who care about animals, take pride in good customer service, and are willing to learn about pet nutrition, products, grooming basics, and store operations.Key ResponsibilitiesCustomer Service & Product SupportGreet customers in a friendly and professional manner.Provide helpful guidance on pet food, treats, toys, supplies, grooming products, and other pet care items.Ask customers appropriate questions to understand their pet’s needs and recommend suitable products.Support pet parents with basic information about nutrition, product selection, and store services.Answer phone calls and respond to customer questions clearly and professionally.Handle customer concerns with patience, care, and positive judgment.Build positive relationships with regular customers and their pets.Pet Care & Grooming SupportAssist with basic grooming‑related services, including nail trims where qualified.Bathe dogs using the in‑store wash station.Help maintain a clean, safe, and organized wash station area.Handle pets calmly, safely, and respectfully.Follow store procedures for pet handling, cleanliness,



and customer service.Support grooming‑related upselling by recommending appropriate shampoos, brushes, treats, dental products, and other related items.Store OperationsProcess POS transactions accurately, including cash, debit, credit, returns, and exchanges.Keep the sales floor clean, organized, and well‑stocked.Face shelves, rotate products, and maintain proper product presentation.Assist with receiving, unpacking, and stocking inventory.Support stock checks, product counts, and backroom organization.Help identify low‑stock items, damaged products, expired products, and inventory issues.Maintain cleanliness throughout the store, including aisles, shelves, checkout area, wash station, and backroom.Follow store procedures for opening, closing, safety, and daily operations.Sales & Team SupportRecommend related products when appropriate to improve the customer experience.Support store sales goals through strong product knowledge and service.Work cooperatively with managers, owners, and other team members.Communicate clearly about customer needs, inventory concerns, service requests, and store priorities.Take initiative during slower periods by cleaning, stocking, organizing, and improving the store environment.Important RequirementsPrevious pet store experience is strongly preferred.Animal care, grooming, dog wash, kennel, veterinary clinic, or pet retail experience is an asset.Ability to trim nails for dogs and cats is an asset.Ability to bathe dogs using the wash station is preferred.Must be comfortable working directly with pets and pet parents.Must be comfortable standing, walking, lifting, stocking, cleaning,



and working in an active retail environment.Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds safely.Must be available for weekdays, weekends, evenings, and holidays as required.QualificationsSecondary school completion or equivalent is preferred.At least 6 months of pet store, animal care, grooming, retail, or customer service experience is preferred.Strong communication and customer service skills.POS and cash handling experience is an asset.Interest in pet nutrition, grooming, animal care, and retail operations.Reliable, punctual, and able to work scheduled 7‑hour shifts.Able to work independently while also contributing to a team environment.Reliable transportation to the Esplanade location in North Vancouver.Ideal CandidateThe ideal candidate is someone who genuinely enjoys working with animals and helping customers find the right products for their pets.
