This role ensures the organization can effectively prepare for, respond to, and recover from disruptions—including cyber incidents, technology failures, and operational events—while strengthening organizational resilience and advancing alignment with the NIST Cybersecurity Framework.The role partners closely with Technology, Cybersecurity, Risk, and Business leaders to embed resilience into core operations and ensure continuity capabilities are measurable, testable, and continuously improving.Program OverviewThe BCM Program is designed to enhance organizational resilience by establishing a sustainable, enterprise-wide continuity framework aligned with the NIST Cybersecurity Framework, with particular focus on strengthening Respond (RS) and Recover (RC) capabilities.Program ObjectivesEstablish and operationalize a repeatable, measurable BCM framework aligned to NIST standardsImprove incident response coordination and recovery execution across business and technology domainsReduce recovery time and business impact through clearly defined recovery strategies and objectivesEnable continuous improvement through testing, metrics, and lessons learnedCore PrinciplesBuild Internal Capability : Develop sustainable expertise through structured knowledge transfer, coaching, and embedded ownership across business unitsStandardize & Align : Leverage enterprise tools, templates, and methodologies to ensure consistency and auditabilityIntegrate Resilience Functions : Align BCP with IT Disaster Recovery (DR), Cyber Incident Response, and Crisis Management to support end-to-end resilienceOperationalize & Continuously Improve : Maintain a "living program" supported by regular testing, performance metrics, and governanceScope & Key Accountabilities1. Program Leadership & GovernanceLead the enterprise BCM program,
including governance, policy, and standards aligned to NIST CSFDefine KPIs and maturity metrics to track improvements in response and recovery capabilitiesProvide regular reporting to senior leadership and risk committees2. Business Impact Analysis (BIA)Oversee identification and prioritization of critical business services and processesValidate recovery requirements, including Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPO)Ensure alignment with enterprise risk and technology recovery strategies3. Risk Assessment & MitigationFacilitate enterprise-wide risk assessments focused on operational and cyber resilienceIdentify vulnerabilities and define mitigation and resilience strategiesIntegrate outputs into broader enterprise risk management processes4. Business Continuity Planning (BCP)Develop and maintain actionable continuity plans covering:Incident responseBusiness resumptionService recovery and restorationEnsure plans are standardized, accessible, and aligned to NIST response/recovery requirements5. IT Disaster Recovery (DR) IntegrationPartner with Technology teams to align DR strategies with business prioritiesEnsure DR plans meet defined RTO/RPO targets and support critical servicesValidate recovery dependencies across systems, infrastructure, and third parties6. Crisis Management & CommunicationsEstablish and maintain crisis management frameworks, including:Escalation protocolsExecutive decision-making structuresInternal and external communication strategiesSupport real‐time incident coordination during major events7. Emergency & Operational Resilience IntegrationAlign BCM with emergency management procedures and operational response modelsEnsure coordination across physical, cyber, and operational incidents8. Pandemic & Emerging Risk PreparednessIncorporate lessons learned from recent global events and evolving threat landscapesMaintain playbooks for infectious disease, workforce disruption, and supply chain impacts9. Training, Awareness & CultureDevelop and deliver role‐based training programsDrive enterprise awareness to embed resilience into day‐to‐day operationsEnable business ownership of continuity capabilities10. Testing & ExercisingDesign and execute scenario‐based exercises (e.G., cyberattack, system outage,
supply disruption)Conduct tabletop and simulation exercises to validate readinessTrack gaps, remediation actions, and continuous improvement outcomesQualifications & Experience8–12+ years in Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, Risk Management, or Cyber ResilienceStrong knowledge of the NIST Cybersecurity Framework and/or ISO 22301Proven experience building and scaling enterprise BCM programsExperience integrating BCP with Cybersecurity and IT DR functionsStrong stakeholder management and executive communication skillsSuccess MeasuresImproved maturity scores in NIST Respond and Recover domains% of critical processes with validated and tested BCP/DR plansReduction in recovery times and operational impact during incidentsSuccessful execution of enterprise-wide exercises and remediation closure ratesIncreased business ownership and engagement in continuity planningIf you are unsure whether your experience matches every requirement above, we encourage you to apply anyway.
